MISSION

People's Music is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to making music education and performance accessible to all.

 

VISION

At People's Music, we believe that music has the power to heal, connect, and transform. We're committed to using music to uplift underrepresented and vulnerable communities.

 

We Serve:

  • Seniors, by offering enriching musical performances and education that support mental and emotional health

  • Musician recovering from playing-related injuries, with supportive and adaptive retraining opportunities

  • LGBTQIA+ community and youth, by fostering affirming and creative musical spaces

Memorial Scholarship

The Brandy Alcala Memorial Scholarship is a dedication-based award offered through People's Music to students of all ages, levels, and instruments who demonstrate dedication to their musical growth

Founder

Cameron Tong 

Cameron Tong is the Founder/Director of the Irvine School of Music and People's Music. With over 20 years as an educator in both private and group settings, Cameron is a highly coveted pianist, collaborator, teacher, and clinician in Southern California. He is one of the leading West Coast experts in the Taubman teachings, promoting a healthy approach to piano technique that unlocks virtuosity at all stages of the learning process.
